You must have been there if you have ever been in a bar. You are trying to get to the bar for refreshments, to be foiled by that lady who is monopolising the skinny barman. Her handbag and silk scarf are hanging from one of those hooks so infrequently seen nowadays; her cigarette is burning on one side and her wine glass is waving on the other. I sometimes pity those drinker/painters who don’t take in all the small details. Even the image in the bar mirror!
